BBQ Spare Ribs -- in the Oven!

Get out your apron!  Not your barbecuing apron, though!  You don't have to step outside to the grill to fix good ribs!  These are delicious!  I forget where the original recipe came from, but over the years I've tweaked it.  I thought I would share this recipe with you since the Super Bowl is coming up!  Try serving ribs with Crock Pot Mac-n-Cheese, Potato Skins, and a Seven Layer Salad.

BBQ Spare Ribs

3-5 pounds spare ribs
2 c. ketchup
2 T. worchestershire sauce
1 c. chili sauce
2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 T. lemon juice
2 T. lime juice
2 T. brown sugar
1/4 c. cider vinegar

Put all ingredients (minus the ribs) in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.  Simmer for 30 minutes.

Place ribs in a shallow pan (I used a 9x13 cake pan).  Pour sauce over and cover with aluminum foil.  Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Uncover and cool enough to skim fat from the sauce.  Return to a 425 degree oven and bake uncovered until ribs are browned and sauce is reduced.  Do not allow them to dry out.

Enjoy!
